I have my dress!

On Wednesday my mom came down so we could do some wedding dress shopping, we went to Stacy's Bridle here in Richmond but she just did have the selection i was looking for. Thursday we headed to Indianapolis along with Terri Jo, i had appts at David's Bridle and Brides by Demetrios; first stop was David's Bridle.

Here I'm filling out some paperwork along with my mom. (I really wanted Gretchen to come but she was unable to take the day off work:( )

next i had to do was pick out my shoes...

and who better knows what kind of shoes i need for an outdoor weeding...

Then off to the dressing room, i only tried on about 4 or 5 dresses and i thought for sure i found the one but i really wanted to go to Brides by Demetrios so we put the dress on hold and off to Demetrios.

Demetrios does not allow you to take ANY pictures of dresses until you pay for the one your buying and then you can take pictures of the dress. So, below are the only pictures i have from Brides by Demetrios that i can post are below...

Mom and Jo; in between dresses...

After i tried on another 6 or 7 dresses I fell in love with one but i wanted to see if they would be able to alter the top part of the dress before i made my choice and because of the one at David's.

We decided to go get a bit to eat and talk about it. While eating i got a call from Demetrios and they said they would be able to do the altering to the dress i was wanting. We went back so i could try on the dress again just to make sure. Well this time around i left the dress the way it was made and i instantly fell in love with it, Mom and Jo both agreed it was the "one" and when i saw myself in the mirror i got goose bumps and then started crying which made jo cry which made mom laugh then cry!

This is Nicole, she helped me get in fitting room (again, so you cannot take any pictures). Here we are finalizing the details and know i have my dress (thank you mom)!!! It will take about 4 months for my dress come in so we are looking at about May, I cannot wait till I can try it on again.

Merry Christmas 2008

Just a few pictures of our Very Merry Christmas...

Going to celebrate Christmas with Brads family.
We got to his parents house around 8:30am and his Grandpa Gibbs was there to watch the opening of presents which him and Betty do every year.
Beth and Paul finally showed up around 9 and when they did it was time to open presents. Well Brad and I were told we had to go first so Gretchen handed Brad a card and told him to read it out loud. So he opens the card and started to read the card and Gretchen said "not the card the note" so this is what Brad read out loud...
It's the first Christmas season
And the family will sing...
we're so happy Brad finally gave
Amy a ring!
Now the two become one
On some special day next year,
For a wedding you'll plan
To bring all fun and cheer.
So on this special Christmas
Let togetherness be your theme
As you work with on another
To find your big present as a team.
Let love be your guide
As you follow the clues,
For this present I know
You both want and can use.
Go first to the room
Where mirrors were broken
And look on a uniform where
The next clue will be spoken.
So we were off to the wreck room which is upstairs and there in the closet was another clue
Proceed to the place
where washing is done.
Your next clue will be hiding
Up above everyone.
Back down stairs to the laundry room and on top of the vanity was yet another clue
The next place you need look
is where a loved on does snooze.
The doll's innocent gaze
will show you the direction to use.
Yes back up stairs to their bed room where a doll in the room is looking at the dresser where the next clue is sitting
Brad used to call this person
"Jophes," how sweet!
Your next clue will be hiding
right under his feet.
Josephs is in the nativity seen and under his feet was our next clue
You're on the right track,
the next place you will go
is where once you did rest,
where Mom now does sew.
So, once again we run upstairs to Brads old bedroom and another clue is sitting on the sewing machine.
You're almost done,
so pay attention once more.
Look under a blanket
next to the back door.
We look at each other and sprinted down the stairs to the back room where sitting on the floor was our Christmas gift from Mike and Gretchen...
Look below and you will see. Brad and i were speechless and so excited.
This is our 42' flat screen TV!
It fits perfectly on our stand...

Sports Center was on already!

Thank You Mike and Gretchen we LOVE it...

I don't have any pictures yet of what my parents got us, it just completed our perfect Christmas. We got the bedding outfit that we wanted and is it amazing. I cannot wait to get everything done to get pictures on here, it's going to look awesome. Thank you Mom and Dad, we missed you today but will see you soon.

Christmas Cards will be late

So, after several attempts of getting that prefect picture for our greeting cards this year we have decide to have someone take the picture for us because every time i got up to set the timer on the camera one of the dogs would follow me. So I'm adding all the pictures on here so you can laugh like we did or "I" did...

Not to bad for the first one, but keep on looking...

Brystal followed me this time and i couldn't get her back in time

Trying not to laugh, Brad was getting so mad...

Not sure what Brystal was looking at

again, Brystal not wanting her picture taken

Look how good Saybel is being, Brystal had to move
I have Saybel by the tale here, i threw her treat to soon and when she took off i grabbed

After this picture is when Brad decided to have someone take it for us!

I have to say it took us by surprise that Brystal was the one being bad.

First time lookers

So on the 16th i went over to Terri's to see the girls and of course look at my planner and at dresses. We were sitting there and after about maybe 15mins, Terri looks at me with these huge eyes and says "Your trying on my wedding dress" runs and gets it along with her shoes, Vail, necklace and earrings and had me put it on. She has me striking a pose to figure out my best side:) and to just have some fun. When I saw myself in the pictures Terri was taking i about lost it, it really set in, I'm going to be a beautiful bride to an amazing man. After our "moment" we continued to look for the perfect dress. We found a few that we thought would look good so when we go shopping we will know where to start and ntil then i will keep looking.
Terri has the pictures, as soon as i get them i will post a few.

Bag of Goodies

Brad proposed to me on Saturday the 13th and guess who shows up at my work the next day with a bag of goodies for me... Terri Jo. When i showed her my ring we both started crying right in the middle of Bath and Body Works so we went for a walk and told her how it happened. She then gave me the bag and and inside was my Wedding Planner and first bridal magazine. She is so excited about Brad and I being engaged she couldn't wait one day to give me a planner! Thank you so much Terri Jo, I love you and can't wait to start planning (just need to set that date)
